Très belle demeure idéalement située.Nous avons été très agréablement surpris et avons profité de la piscine. Notre seul regret ne pas avoir rencontré nos hôtes qui étaient en déplacement et qui avaient l’air si sympathiques après quelques échanges téléphoniques. Nous espérons revenir prochainement.

Outside of the location, the amenities, the room and facilities, the hosts were fantastic. I had come to the airport but unfortunately had forgot my credit card at home and thus could not get any cash for a cab. The hosts found someone to come pick me up which was a huge help. The owner of the house was also incredibly nice. She cooked breakfast and gave me recommendations for a company to book for a tour in Bora Bora her cousin runs. The house has everything you need if you want to cook and the AC is really a gift in the heat. I would really recommend this to anyone staying in Tahiti!

Merci beaucoup à Vaea et Richard, ils sont des hôtes exceptionnels, attentionnés et trés sympathiques; je me suis sentie comme en famille! Ils m'ont donné de nombreux conseils sur les activités à faire et les endroits à visiter. La maison et la chambre sont trés jolie et propre. Les environs sont calmes, il y a un supermarché à proximité de la maison, et il est très pratique de se rendre à pied à la gare maritime ainsi qu'au centre-ville. Mauruuru, à bientôt!

We booked to stay here as part of our brief stay in Tahiti before travelling onto Moorea. In haste of booking we didn’t realise we were in shared accommodation with a shared bathroom - ordinarily we wouldn’t book somewhere like this. However both Vaea and Richard were very accommodating, gave us full access to the amenities and were very hospitable. Their hospitality extended to a lovely cooked fish breakfast on our first morning and they also kindly bundled us off with bananas and pomelo from their garden. Sharing amenities was never a problem and their warm presence set our holiday off to a fab start

Very kind owner with a lot of good recommendations and tips to support your stay. It’s located close to the city centre and the harbour. A nice garden with a swimmingpool excellent for spending some time and relaxing.

We did not understand that we were renting a single bedroom in a home with the host. They had other bedrooms rented to other people but we had to share a bathroom, living room and kitchen. The description was not clearly given and some of the pictures (especially the pool was exaggerated so as to be much larger).

J'ai passé une semaine chez Richard et Vaia et ils ont été des hotes incroyable. Accueil tres chaleureux, ils se sont montrés tres disponibles et c'etait un plaisir de discuter avec eux. Leur maison est tres bien décorée, la piscine tres agreable et la chambre est doté d'un lit king sinze tres confortable! Je recommande vivement

tout commence quand notre avion arrive avec pas mal de retard et que Richard nous attend malgré tout , a l'instant où on arrive on est tout de suite mis a l'aise on se sent bien , le logement est magnifique et chaleureux. nos hôtes Richard et Vaea d'une gentillesse sincère et d'une générosité touchante . le logement est impeccable rien a dire tout invite a se poser et profiter. l'emplacement parfait tout a proximité a pied , le super plus sont les conseils et bon plan de nos hôtes ce que nous garderons le plus en tête et dans nos cœurs c'est les moments passés ensemble , les petits déjeuners de découverte comme ce café d'après midi a papoter sur la terrasse avec Vaea je recommande 100 fois 1000 fois même merci encore a vous ❤️ .

Richard und seine Frau waren sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer sehr sauber und das Bett bequem. Sie haben alle meine lästigen Fragen geduldig beantwortet ☺️ der Garten wunderschön und der Pool sehr erfrischend-das einzige was mich gestört hat, waren die sehr ambitionierten Hähne, die mitten in der Nacht gekräht haben. Dies hat jedoch nichts mit der Unterkunft zu tun. Ich würde die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen, der Wert auf Herzlichkeit hat.

Tout était réuni pour se sentir comme à la maison : un accueil chaleureux, une grande disponibilité, et des petites attentions qui font toute la différence. Le logement est propre, confortable et très bien situé. Le petit déjeuner chaque matin était un vrai plus (café, fruits frais etc.); rien de mieux pour commencer la journée en légèreté et en énergie. Wow. Richard and Vaea went above and beyond to make us feel right at home and give us the warmest welcome to Tahiti. We arrived very early but they were already up to welcome us with a fresh breakfast of local cuisine. We loved spending time with our hosts and learning about the history and culture of French Polynesia, and Richard gave us some excellent suggestions for how we could spend our time. Richard also brought us to the market and dropped us off at the airport which was very much appreciated. The house was beautiful with so much attention to detail. Our room was super comfy and we had a great sleep after our long journey. It is also in an excellent location and easily walkable to town. We wish we could have spent more time here - thank you King Richard!

I spent a week at Richard and Vaea’s place and it felt like being at home! Everything was absolutely perfect and my stay was comfortable and cosy. My hosts were so kind and helpful I can not thank them enough! If you are visiting Papeete, this is the place to be!!

Logement conforme à la description, très propre, bonne literie. Le centre de Papeete est accessible à pieds, la gare maritime également. Richard est très accueillant, il nous a fait découvrir le marché de Papeete puis nous a préparé le petit déjeuner, il nous a également déposées à la gare maritime au moment de partir.

Our stay was amazing with Richard giving us tips and insights of where to go. We wanted a place that i close to the city so that we can walk around and explore without needing a car and Richards place was perfect for that. He made us feel at home with his breakfast and also stories, thank you so much Richard, definitely recommend people to stay here if they want a friendly teacher host!

On s'y sent comme à la maison ! Le lieux est exceptionnel, décoré avec beaucoup de goût. C’est la deuxième fois en 10 jours que je dors chez Richard et Vaea. Cette fois j’ai annulé ma réservation ailleurs pour revenir chez eux…. L’accueil, la localisation, la communication, les chambres, la piscine, le thé/café le matin… tout est exceptionnel… avec une touche culturelle et artistique qui ajoute un peu de magie … Que dire de plus ? Excellent séjour chez Richard et sa femme qui nous ont accueillis avec une extrême gentillesse. Richard nous a proposé de nous emmener voir un spectacle de danse marquisienne où nous avons passé une superbe soirée et a même emmené mon conjoint à l’aéroport. It was a pleasure to stay at Richard’s home, he was an outstanding host! He made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. His home is in a great location within walking distance of downtown so it is perfect for getting around the town any time of day. He also provided us with some great information about the culture and great recommendations for places to visit while driving around the island. The breakfast was excellent. I would absolutely stay at Richard's home again on our next trip to Tahiti.

Richard and his wife are great hosts. Richard shared some local tips with us and his love for his country. Breakfast included a fresh fried fish, fresh fruit and coconut bread. Yummy. !

Un hôte passionant quand il s’agit de mieux comprendre la culture polynésienne. Richard et son épouse sont très attentionnés et ont tout fait pour rendre mon « court » passage le plus agréable possible. Papeete ne m a pas plus enchanté que cela surtout après les îles alentours mais mieux connaître Richard est une vrai étape!!

Richard is a lovely host. He is warm and friendly. He and his wife provided an amazing breakfast! My ferry was delayed the next day and Richard was amazing he stored my luggage and dropped me off at a public beach then returned in time to drop me at the ferry. Richard a été incroyable, dispo en tout temps, accommodant comme pas deux et plein de petites attentions. Le soir, il m'a offert à manger, à boire, et le lendemain matin, j'avais un jus de fruits frais qui m'attendait avec un petit gâteau et des fruits. Hell yeah! Richard m'a reconduit aussi à mon rendez-vous qui était super tôt, bref la totale. Un séjour court mais mémorable :) Mauruuru pour tout Richard!

Spacious + clean + comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Near the center of Papeete (marche, ferry to Moorea, etc), yet located in a quiet neighborhood. Very gracious hosts — if you want to know the culture scene in Papeete, then Richard and his wife are your good source of info. Highly recommend.

Richard e la sua famiglia sono stati davvero gentili e ospitali. Ci hanno saputo consigliare al meglio e ci hanno fatto assaporare la vera vita polinesiana. Ottima posizione e ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo! Ps: attenzione hanno 2 cani, non lasciate le scarpe neanche dentro la casa in prossimità dell’uscita, ci giocano e a noi ce le hanno mangiucchiate tutte purtroppo!!!

Richard et son épouse sont au petits soins pour faire plaisir. Ils ont la passion de leur culture et la partage avec plaisir. Le petit-déjeuner typique partagé avec eux était incroyable et très copieux ! La chambre est très agréable avec une très grande salle de bain. Le logement est situé à quelques minutes à pied de la place principale avec les roulottes et du marché. Notre regret est de ne pas être resté quelques jours de plus. Je vous recommande vivement ce logement.

My second stay with Richard, just a flying visit and I wasn't able to see him in the day. But with the awkward timing of the Easter Island flight, Richard drive me himself to the airport at 2am and we were able to talk then. Thank you for going out of your way. Amazing hospitality!

There is not a useable pool or hot tub, construction appears to never have been completed for these amenities. WiFi was turned off without notice. We scheduled breakfast for 8am, however we were summoned to come eat breakfast more than 15 mins early and we were not yet ready, 15 mins prior to the time we were summoned again. The address location provided by AirBnB is about 6-7 blocks from the actual location. The bed is very firm and thin. The host stated he would arrange a taxi to the airport for our early morning departure but his wife informed us the next morning that he forgot and she had trouble locating the number for a taxi. I called several taxis, using my cell service, and all taxis I contacted weren’t working that early in the morning. We stayed only one night of our two night stay and checked out early due to the listing discrepancies and hosts poor communication regarding the WiFi and lack of pool and hot tub. We then booked at the Intercontinental as I wanted to not have a sour taste in my mouth leaving our vacation paradise. Had the accommodation included the pool and hot tub, and WiFi not been disrupted, I would have enjoyed. I would not stay here again.

Great place to stay in the heart of town, Richard will tell you everything you need to know, an absolute font of knowledge. Felt like part of a family even though I stayed less than 24 hours. I flew into Papeete for one night to go out to the islands, and changed plans to come back a night early before my flight out to see Richards crew practise before Hieva. Think that means I'll be leaving another review...

We stayed at Richard and Veya’s home after returning to Papeete from a Windstar cruise. Their home is ideally situated in the bustling port town, a mere 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal (Gare Marine). Their hospitality was kind and generous. Both Richard and his wife were more than accommodating in helping us with several last minute plans. They went out of their way to make sure we had the opportunity to taste the local foods and learn of Tahitian culture and dance. Richard’s Tahitian dance team, 160 dancers, came in 2nd in last year’s Hieva competition and we were honored to experience a small bit of the competition through a video he shared with us.! Two very sweet and kind people who make our stay a memorable one.

Rien n'aurait pu être mieux! Si j'ai la chance de revenir un jour je ne chercherai pas pour trouver mieux, car je doute que ça existe. En plus d'une hospitalité incroyable et d'une gentillesse sans fin, si vous êtes intéressé par la culture du pays, alors vous ne pouvez pas mieux tomber que sur Richard, qui s'y connait. Nothing could have been better! If I ever have the chance to come back someday I will not try to find a better place because I doubt that it exists. In addition to incredible hospitality and kindness, if you are interested in the culture of the country, then you could not have found better with Richard who really knows a lot about it.

Richard accepted my last minute inquiry. I arrived late in the evening and he had arranged for a taxi pick-up from the airport which was a great relief. His wife was kind enough to drop me off at Le Marche in the morning as well as drive me to my next destination in the afternoon. Taxis are expensive on the island. Much appreciated. Thank you both.

We had a great time with Richard, his wife and their 2 beautiful dogs. Richard is very helpful, we had great conversations and breakfast is amazing. Good location easy walk to downtown and few minutes walk to the ferry going to Moorea. We would definitely stay with them again if we go back to Tahiti.

I highly recommend Richard and his home. He is a very kind, gregarious, helpful person. He really the Tahitian culture and participates in major dance festivals. He has two friendly dogs. You will be enriched during your stay.

Vous trouverez mes commentaires traduits en français plus bas. ENGLISH VERSION: Richard and Vaia are the best Airbnb hosts I’ve come across thus far. They welcomed me into their home and treated me like family, sat me at their dining room table for a lavish/more than generous breakfast (mostly delicious local delicacies) and even prepared cold lemon water (“citronnade”) and slices of oranges and mangoes for me to take to the beach. Richard’s sister who stopped by for breakfast even took me to the beach by car on her way home. Words can’t describe their hospitality and I’m saying this from the perspective of someone that has stayed in over a dozen Airbnbs in a variety of countries. Richard also arranged my transport from the airport to his place. As for the Airbnb itself, Richard’s house is located 10 minutes away from downtown by foot, in what seems to be a perfectly safe neighborhood (I was home by 8pm so I can’t really speak about later times at night but it was dark when I walked back home and I felt pretty safe). The house is also 5 minutes walking distance to the marine station ("gare maritime") from which you can take ferries to Moorea (make sure to check the schedule). The room is air conditioned and bright, with colorful sheets on the bed and more than a dozen guides to plan your vacation. In terms of value for your money, this place is off the charts relative to the local hostel (possibly one of the only ones in town/downtown) where I stayed my first night in Tahiti. VERSION FRANCAISE: Richard et Vaia sont les meilleurs hôtes Airbnb que j’ai rencontrés jusqu’à présent. Ils m'ont accueilli dans leur maison et m'ont traité comme un membre de leur famille. Ils m'ont également préparé un petit déjeuner très copieux (avec de délicieuses spécialités locales) et m'ont même préparé de la citronnade et des tranches d'oranges et de mangues pour prendre avec moi à la plage. La sœur de Richard qui s'est joint a nous pour le petit-déjeuner m'a même emmené à la plage en voiture. Il est difficile de trouver les bons mots pour décrire l'hospitalité de Richard et de Vaia, et je dis cela du point de vue de quelqu'un qui a séjourné dans plus d'une douzaine d'Airbnbs dans divers pays. Richard a également organisé mon transport de l'aéroport à son domicile. Quant à la maison de Richard, elle est située à 10 minutes à pied du centre-ville, dans un quartier qui ne me semble pas dangereux du tout (j'étais à la maison à 20 heures, donc je ne peux pas vraiment parler des heures plus tard de la nuit, mais il faisait nuit quand je suis rentré chez moi et je me sentais assez en sécurité). La maison est également à 5 minutes à pied de la gare maritime à partir de laquelle vous pouvez prendre des bateaux pour Moorea (assurez-vous de vérifier les horaires). La chambre est climatisée et lumineuse, avec des draps colorés sur le lit et plus d’une douzaine de guides pour planifier vos vacances. Pour ce qui est du rapport qualité-prix, cet endroit est top par rapport à l’auberge locale (probablement l’une des seules en ville / au centre-ville) où j’ai passé ma première nuit à Tahiti.

Un séjour fantastique chez Richard et sa famille. Des hôtes exceptionnels avec beaucoup d’attention pour nous. La maison est vraiment bien située à quelques minutes de tout. ( marché, Roulottes, centre ville etc...) Pour notre part nous avons séjourner deux nuits chez Richard et nous comptons renouveler dès notre retour sur Papeete.... Encore merci pour tout ses bons conseils et le petit déjeuner traditionnel qui fut un délices pour les papilles et la découverte...

This was the best airbnb accommodation I ever stayed in. When we got there, we first got some information on the island a juice and water with ice and lemon to go. Everything was perfectly clean and the own bathroom is very spacious. Finally Richard took us to the market and then we had breakfast together. Great stay!

A faire et à refaire ! Une adresse à conseiller les yeux fermés tant les hôtes sont accueillants, prévoyants, disponibles. Nous ne sommes restés que deux nuits mais nous nous en souviendrons bien d avantage. Deux nuitees entremêlées de rigolades, de partage culturel, bref un séjour inoubliable. Richard and his wife Vaia were absolutly outstanding hosts. We can only confirm all the great recommendations before. The best airbnb experience. Richard is really an expert of polynesian culture and seems to know almost everybody on the irland and beyond. Richard and Vaia are so kindly and the breakfast was perfect. Petite maison de ville idéale si vous êtes en transit pour Moorea. Chambre lumineuse et grande salle de bain, le tout très propre. La cuisine n'est pas à disposition des visiteurs, il est donc préférable de déjeuner et diner en ville avant de rentrer. Richard et Vaea connaissent les bons restaurants de Papeete. Petit déjeuner offert très bon et copieux. Une piscine et un deck sont en projet dans la petite cour de la maison. Ce sera un vrai plus car ça permettra d'avoir un espace extérieur. Richard et Vaea sont très accueillants, attentifs à toutes les demandes et disponibles. Par ailleurs, Richard est un parfait ambassadeur de la culture tahitienne. je recommande.

Richard and his family are great hosts, eager to share experiences and to show local life style in Papeete. Richard is expert about local culture and Polynesian languages and dances, and knows about all the local music shows in the area. The breakfast was amazing

Richard's place was the best place we stayed in French Polynesia, and is the best stay we've ever had on AirBnB. The location is great - just around the corner from a store, a 5 min walk to the ferry terminal and less than 10 minutes to the Roulottes. The space was very clean, with a great bathroom and nice air conditioning. He and his wife were phenomenal hosts, making us amazing breakfasts, giving us lifts (they were on vacation from work when we were there and had a bit of time), and even making a banana cake for my fiancee's birthday. Our stay there was a highlight of our 6 week French Polynesia trip. If you are staying in Papeete you would be crazy not to stay with Richard!

Nous avons passée deux jours d’exception chez richard et sa femme , la maison est magnifique et très bien située. En ce qui concerne nos hôtes vous ne trouverez pas plus adorable , nous avons bien rigolé et surtout bien mangé merci encore pour le petit dej de roi! Richard nous a fait découvrir sa culture et est plein de bon conseils se fut un merveilleux moment de partage . Nous n’oublierons pas de venir faire un coucou quand nous reviendrons en Polynésie .

C'est la deuxième fois que nous passons chez Richard et c'est vraiment génial. Réservez les yeux fermés. Super accueil, très attentionné et aidant. Bien situé à une dizaine de minutes à pied des roulottes, du marché, du bateau pour Moorea. On a passé un super moment au petit déjeuner avec sa famille !

Ce fut de loin notre meilleure expérience en Airbnb. RIchard est très généreux de son temps et il nous accompagna au marché afin de nous indiquer les bons plans pour acheter des perles. Il nous amena également à l'hôtel Intercontinental afin d'assister à un spectacle de danses marquisiennes. Richard adore partager sa culture et que dire de Vaea. Ils sont un couple extraordinaire et on s'est senti comme faisant parti de la famille. La chambre est très confortable avec clim et la salle de bain est privative et très grande. Et que dire du petit déjeuner polynésien.N'hésitez point et vous serez conquis tout comme nous.

I haven’t used Airbnb for a while but this visit with Richard and his family reminded me why It is such a great way to enjoy and understand the world.I had a very comfortable room and private bathroom, decorated in Tahitian style, and Richard gave me early check-in due to my early morning flight arrival. Richard and his wife, school teachers, immediately made me feel comfortable and part of the family. During that time I was there they gave me a traditional Tahitian breakfast, Took me to a dance and drum performance by a group that Richard performs in, spent time Discussing Tahitian history and culture, got a visit to the local market to understand pearl buying and a drive around orientation to the major features of Papaate town. Their warmth, and generosity of time and spirit, really made this a special visit I won’t soon forget.

Ce fut un séjour fantastique où j'ai rencontré une famille formidable. Ils ont tous plein de petites attentions et de bons conseils sur les lieux à visiter. C'est le lieu parfait si vous voulez connaitre et comprendre la culture tahitienne . La localisation est idéale car la maison est à deux pas du centre. Quand je reviendrai sur l île c'est chez Richard que j irai sans hésiter. Je suis très heureuse de les avoir rencontré et ses chiens sont très gentils et trop mignons.

Richard is an incredible host! He helped us to find a place to eat at night, tell us about Tahiti, and surprised us with an amazing breakfast prepared by his wife. Finally, they took us back to the airport. The house is well located, near to restaurants and bars, and the room has everything you need (a comfy bed, a clean bathroom). I will definitely come back again.

Richard's accomodation is spacious, comfortable and with a great, huge bathroom ! His house is situated closer to the bars-restaurants as well as to 'rulottes' (food stalls). The port (for 'Aranui'-'Aremiti') is just 3 minutes driving. The breakfast they offered me with his wife was comprehensive and looked more like 'Menu de degustacion'!!! And Richard was incredibly Soulful and Helpful!

Thanks to Richatd and Vaea, the days at Tahiti island became truly unforgettable. The hosts are extremely kind and generois. They speak excellent English and they always try to do all the effort to make your stay comfortable. The bedroom is tranquil, clean and decorated wih genuine Tahiti touch. Tere are a lot of brochure of Tahiti and its culture provided in the room. The bathroom is so spacious that you feel like you are stayng at a 5 star hotel!. The atmosphere of the tropical garden is luxurious.
